Farm to Table at Holly Hill

I had the pleasure of photographing a special Farm to Table dinner held at Cohasset’s Holly Hill Farm this weekend for The Patriot Ledger’s food section.  The farm is located on Jerusalem Road in the middle of prime vacation house real estate, and dinner was served in a barn built in 1785 without a single nail to be found.  Chef Robin King of Restaurant Oro in Scituate prepared a 3 course meal highlighting the farm’s delicious vegetables, and a light spring rain set the mood.  Amazing, to say the least.

You can find Kristen Walsh’s story on the dinner here:

I was walking to an assignment in Needham this morning when I noticed that I was surrounded by beauty.

Looking back over a tough week

“And we do that because of who we are. And we do that because we know that somewhere around the bend a stranger has a cup of water. Around the bend, somebody is there to boost our spirits. On that toughest mile, just when we think that we’ve hit a wall, someone will be there to cheer us on and pick us up if we fall. We know that.” — President Barack Obama, April 18, 2013.

I’m starting to look back through my photos from the Marathon and everything afterwards with a fresh set of eyes, and I didn’t make it far.  Stopped on this one.

The start of something big

My new (old) desk

I’m happy to report that this morning I signed the lease on what will be my new studio space: classroom 20 in the former Avery Elementary School in East Dedham.  Light is streaming through the 4 north-facing windows as I type this, and some big changes will be underway for not just my room, but the building as a whole over the next couple of weeks.  The Mother Brook Arts and Community Center has a great vision for the place, and I’m stoked to be one of the first people in.

If you need a rental studio for a few days for your next big shoot, let me know.
